Mercedes-Benz accident research has been in existence for more than seven decades, and for around 50 years Mercedes has repeatedly provided an outlook on the safety technology of future generations of vehicles by means of an “Experimental Safety Vehicle” (ESV/ESF). The ESF 2019 boasts countless innovations to show how automated driving in particular will affect vehicle safety in the coming years. Together with the engineers, we take a detailed look at the state of the art, but also at the impressive history of accident research and vehicle safety at Mercedes-Benz.
