2JZ-Powered Toyota Race Truck Goes 262 mph

Scott Birdsall and his Toyota race truck reset the mini-midsize truck record at Bonneville Speed Week 2026. While there Scott recorded a 2-way record of 259.012 mph (416.83 km/h) and official exit speed of 262.412 mph (403.64 km/h). The truck is built at Scott’s company Chuckles Garage with a turbocharged 3.2 L 2JZ-GTE inline-six capable of 1400 hp (1029 kW). The motor features an Iron Eagle short-block, Brian Crower Stage 3+ camshafts, Garrett G47-1850 turbocharger, CPC Manufacturing billet intake manifold, Cameron Salsedo ported head, Artec Performance exhaust manifold, and CPC Manufacturing 12-injector billet intake manifold. The fuel system uses 12 ID2600 injectors and a Platinum Racing Products mechanical fuel pump. The truck’s drivetrain uses a Tilton four-disc clutch, 6XD six-speed sequential transmission, Driveshaft Shop carbon fiber driveshaft, and Winters quick-change rear end.
