1979 Chevy C30 with a Duramax V8

Hodson Motors featured this 1979 Chevy C30 Silverado Camper Special on their giveaway. The classic truck is powered by a turbocharged 6.6 L Duramax (LLY) V8 paired to an Allison 1000 five-speed automatic transmission. Hodson Motors converted the truck to 4WD using a NP261XHD transfer case and Ford Kingpin Dana 60 rear axle. In the back of the truck is a Dana 60 dually rear axle. Hodson Motors converted the front suspension to 4WD using a custom spring hander integrated into the core support with widened shackles. The suspension also uses Offroad Designs crossover 1-ton steering system, Skyjacker leaf-springs, and Bilstein 5100 shocks. On the outside Hodson Motors left the factory paint, grill, bumpers, and mirrors. Inside the wells are 17-inch steel wheels with Milestar XT 275/85 tires.
