Hayabusa-Powered Toyota Starlet Racing in New Zealand

Toyota Starlet with a Hayabusa Inline-Four

Kevin Sanderson and his Hayabusa-powered Starlet attended the Port Waikato & Limestone Downs hillclimb in New Zealand. Kevin took home 1st place with the fastest run of 3:15.70. The Starlet is powered by a built 1.3 L inline-four from a Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle. It features upgraded connecting rods, valve springs, dry sump, and custom stainless steel exhaust header. The motor’s 200 hp (147 kW) is sent the rear wheels through a sequential transmission, custom driveshaft, and Toyota AE86 rear end with a Cusco limited-slip differential.
