1964 Jaguar Mark 2 with a LT1 V8

1964 Jaguar Mark 2 with a LT1 V8

A customer returned to Schwartz Performance for their sixth automotive creation by the company. This time they chose to rebuild a 1964 Jaguar Mark 2 with improved performance and modern handling.

In the engine bay is a 6.2 L LT1 V8 making 500 hp (367 kW) and 525 lb-ft (711 Nm) of torque. The motor uses forged steel crank, forged I-beam rods, aluminum pistons, and Billet Specialties Tru Trac accessory drive, and custom valve covers. Exhaust is routed through custom stainless steel header and 2.5-inch tubing. Behind the V8 is an 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission, custom steel driveshaft, and Currie 9-inch independent rear end with a TrueTrac limited-slip differential and 3.25 ratio.

The car rides on a Schwartz Performance G-Machine chassis with a quick-ratio steering rack, splined sway bars, Ridetech adjustable coilovers, and independent rear suspension. Braking is handled by Baer Pro+ six-piston calipers with 13-inch rotor in front and four-piston calipers with 13-inch rotors in back.

Schwartz Performance narrowed and tucked the bumpers and fabricated custom rear fender skirts. They repainted the body in classic Jet Black paint and chrome plated the trim. The exterior look is completed with a set of Dayton Wire wheels (18×8, 18×9) with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (255/35, 265/40).

On the inside Schwartz Performance sent the factory front seats to Cassin Customizing for new foam and custom leather upholstery. Schwartz Performance modified the seat brackets to allow for more legroom. Between the seat is a custom console with wood grain. Inside the wood dash are Dakota Digital gauges.
