SR20-Powered Datsun 120Y

1974 Datsun 120Y with a SR20 inline-four

Tenn Automotive interviewed Joel about this 1974 Datsun 120Y. The project started as a body shell in 2003. Over the years the car went through different periods of work. It is now powered by a naturally aspirated SR20DE inline-four from a Nissan S15 Autech paired to a Nismo six-speed manual transmission. The motor produces 175-200 hp (130-150 kW) on a Haltech ECU and custom 3-inch exhaust by Street Race Solutions. The sedan rides on a Mad Dat Motorsport front suspension, aftermarket front springs, custom rear leaf springs, and a set of Cheviot Hotwire 14×7-inch wheels.
