Ringbrothers’ 1972 Chevy Blazer
Ringbrothers spent 3,700 hours creating this 1972 Chevy K5 Blazer called “TUKA” capable of cruising the streets and going off road.
The Blazer is powered by a 6.2 L LS3 V8 producing 525 hp (386 kW) and 487 lb-ft (660 Nm) of torque. Ringbrothers fabricated a set of custom header and 3-inch stainless steel tubing to route the exhaust.
Backing the V8 is a Bowler Tru-Street 4WD 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission. A NP208 transfer case by Midwest Transmission Center splits power between the front differential and a 12-bolt rear end with a Trutrac limited-slip differential.
Ringbrothers upgraded the SUV’s handling using a 2016 Toyota Tacoma chassis. It features a Tacoma front suspension with Total Chaos control arms and King remote-reservoir coilovers. In the back Ringbrothers fabricated a custom rear suspension using Offroad Design extended travel leaf springs and King shocks.
The Blazer rides on a set of Nitto Recon Grappler A/T 325/60R tires mounted on custom HRE 18×11-inch wheels designed by Sean Smith Designs. Behind those are Baer six-piston calipers and 14-inch rotors on each corner.
On the outside Ringbrothers covered the laser-straight body in BASF Glasurit Waterborne “Galactic Black” paint. The top received a custom fiberglass topper with billet aluminum roof rails. The classic looking Blazer received a powered sunroof and side mirrors from a 2019 Blazer. Underneath they installed custom skid plate and custom powered running boards.
Gabe’s Custom Interiors installed the custom interior designed by Martin Horton. There are also Dakota Digital gauges, Gentex FDM (full display mirror) rearview mirror, and Vintage Air Gen 4 Magnum AC system. Ringbrothers completed the interior with one of their custom carbon fiber steel wheels and custom roll cage.
