VW Golf with a 1000+ hp Turbo VR6

VW Golf Mk3 with a turbocharged 3.0 L VR6

Olli Berga and his VW Golf Mk3 traveled from their home in Austria to Hungary for DragRaceFest. VeeDubRacing states the blue car is powered by a turbocharged 3.0 L VR6 making 1100 hp. It features a R32 block, 2.8 L crankshaft, forged rods and pistons, modified GTX47 turbocharger, and FuelTech FT600 ECU. Power is sent to four slicks through a DQ500 seven-speed automatic transmission and 4Motion drivetrain. The fastest quarter-mile run captured in the video below is a 8.89 sec at 165 mph. Olli best at the event was a 8.68 sec at 165 mph.
