VW K70 Wrapped Around a W8 Powered Passat

1971 VW K70 with a Passat B5 W8 chassis and powertrain

This Volkswagen K70 is owned by Pipey McGraw and was built by Coltech Classics in Poole, England. Instead of swapping a powertrain and upgrading components they decided to just swap the body over a modern chassis. They found their doner in a Passat B5.5 which came with a 4.0 L BDN W8 and manual transmission. By using the Passat underpinnings the car received all the modern technology including VW’s 4motion all-wheel drive. Listen as the 300 hp W8 sings through some straight pipes.
