Nissan S15 with a 1264 hp 2JZ
Naomi Van der Togt owns a Nissan S15 capable of 8.42 sec at 165 mph (265 km/h). Naomi works at Goleby’s Parts who helped transform the classic coupe into a monster at the drag strip.
In the engine bay sits a turbocharged 2JZ-GTE inline-six making 1264 hp (929 kW) at 37 psi (2.5 bar) of boost on a Haltech Nexus R5. The motor features Goleby’s Parts 1200hp 2JZ part package. The 2JZ has CP Pistons 9:1 compression pistons, Spool Imports I-beam rods, BPP billet main caps, and Goleby’s Parts modified 2JZ-GTE oil pump.
On top are Kelford T202-F 282/286 camshafts, Ferrea valves, and Kelford KVS02-BT valve springs and retainers. A Bosch DBW 74 mm throttle body sends air through a Plazmaman intake manifold. Boost is generated by a Garrett GXR45-73 turbocharger on a 6Boost T4 split-pulse exhaust manifold. Six Siemens Deka 2400 cc injectors feed E85 fuel from an Aeromotive 5.0 GPH brushless pump with a Turbosmart FPR 1200 V2 regulator.
Backing Naomi’s motor is an 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission with a Pure Drivetrain Solutions converter and ATF flexplate. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a PRP billet 8.8-inch rear end with billet axles and GTR hubs.
The car rides on a set of MCA Pro Drag coilovers with a Whittling rear sway bar and Weld Racing S77 wheels. The front 17×8-inch wheel always holds a 215/60 tires. However the rear is a 17×10-inch wheel with 255/55 tires for the street and 15×9-inch wheel with 275/60 tires for the drag strip. You can view the car’s full specs in Golbey’s Parts project page.
