Jaguar Series 3 E-Type
A V-12 engine appeared in the series three E-type in 1971. There were two versions of the car, a roadster and the 2 plus 2 fixed-head coupe. The V-12 engine was a 5.3 liter unit with a single overhead camshaft for each bank of cylinders. At the time, only expensive exotics, Ferrari and Lamborghini, offered the sophistication of a V-12. By 1971, the performance of this most British of sports machines had been restricted by increasing safety and environmental legislation in the crucial American market. AU Jaguar
