Published in Video

Episode 6 of 9:11 Magazine shows the highlights from SEVENTY years of Porsche sports cars. On June 8, 1948, the first car bearing the name Porsche made its debut: the 356 “No. 1” Roadster. A journey in time through seven decades and into the future, from the forefather of the 911 to the Mission E. The best of “70 years of Porsche sports cars.” Episode 6 starts in the 1950s – with the vehicle that would mark the beginning of the Porsche success story: the Porsche 356. Californian Matt Hummel, a Porsche enthusiast with a special philosophy, has left his 1956 model in the state in which he found it – with a patina and plenty of dings. Chapter 2 of 9:11 Magazine jumps ahead a decade: A video from 1967 shows the 911 2.0 Targa in a wind tunnel. On board: a model and the question: Will the hairdo survive the fierce winds? Now the current Targa does the hairdo test as well. The next chapter is entirely dedicated to a star of the 1970s – the 917 KH Gulf. For 9:11 Magazine, the talented artist and YouTuber Roman Miah has immortalized the brawny legend of the race track, which featured prominently in Steve McQueen’s film “Le Mans,” in a hyper-realistic oil painting. Chapter 4 presents time-lapse video from the 1980s to the 2010s. 9:11 Magazine highlights four models that embody the zeitgeist of their decades – from the Porsche 959 to the 918 Spyder super sports car. And as the finale of episode 6, 9:11 Magazine celebrates the vision of a creative mind: According to Ivo van Hulten, Director of Interior Design, the interior of a Porsche has “always been a league of its own.” So the challenge was all the greater for the Porsche designer to unite tradition and innovation in the Mission E Cross Turismo.
