1930 FORDOR HOT ROD first fire-up!

Published in Video

This is the first START of my hotrod. Just set static timing to about 8* BTDC made sure fluids were topped off, battery charged.....WALA!!! I think the engine cranked over about 1 time then she fired up!! Idled pretty good...just have to do a proper engine timing on her and that part of the project gets cheked off!! The car is a 1930 Ford Model A Fordor (now only use 2 of them). 454 BBC, 3 speed auto, 6" chop, 3" Channel, 2x3x.250" homemade frame--6" Z in the front, 18" kick in the rear. 125" Wheelbase. 4 link rear suspension and straight axle up front. Car was painted with my own custom blend of RUSTOLEUM (Flat black and gloss red mixed together then sprayed on with my ol' Binks siphon feed gun). the "new" paint gave the car a aged look that I was after. You can still see many flaws under the paint...but I didn't want a SHOW ROD that I'd be afraid to park somewhere!! Come springtime...this car will be used EVERY DAY!
