Very low mileage with only 16900 miles show on the odometer. It has been in a private collection since 1984. It was acquired through the current owners good friend, Bob Fergus, who took in in on trade at his VW/Porsche dealership for a new Porsche (Bob was a well known sports car racer since beginning a racing career in a MG TC in 1949). This Miura is the 98th production car and completed December 12, 1967. This is one of the first 124 cars with the lightweight .9mm thickness chassis, later car were produced from 1mm sheet metal. It was delivered new to Jake Kaplan’s Lamborghini East dealership, 464 Broad Street, Providence, Rhode Island. The identity of the first owner is unknown to us, only that he traded it in on a new Porsche in 1983 or 1984. The original color of the car was Miura Verde, a very interesting color, yet not an easy sell in the early eighties. Fergus had it painted a red garnet metallic color and had the interior re-upholstered in tan leather from its original mustard color. Miura Verde/Mustard would have been very interesting to say the least! The current owner decided it was time for a more suitable color and in 1997 delivered it to Alan Powell of Mishawaka, Indiana. Alan had painted several other car in his collection and he always did a beautiful job. Fly Yellow was the chosen color. Shortly after Alan completed the paint work the car was shown in the Amelia Island Concours, finishing second in class. The rest of the car is so original that it appears to still retains the original Pirelli CN72 HS rear tires and spare, as there are no date codes on them. The front Pirelli CN72 HS tires appear to carry a three digit 1971 date code. The engine was removed in the mid nineties and a valve job was performed at my shop. Other than a new fuel pump and master cylinder, the rest of the car is largely untouched. It is in running and driving condition, although, a thorough mechanical inspection and new tires would be required before road use.»
