1965 Mustang with a 427 ci Roush V8

Scott’s Hotrods ‘N Customs’ 1965 Mustang called “Vendetta” won Top 5 Mustangs award at the 2013 SEMA Show and the Lingenfelter Performance and Design Challenge award at the 2013 Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge Invitational.

Under the hood sits a 427 ci Roush 427IR V8 producing 560 hp (411 kW) and 540 lb-ft (732 Nm) of torque. The motor features an iron block, four-bolt main caps, steel crank, steel rods, and forged aluminum pistons. On top are ported aluminum heads and 8-stack fuel injection system.

The drivetrain uses a Richmond five-speed manual transmission and Moser 9-inch rear end with a limited-slip differential and 3.70 ratio.

The Mustang rides on custom tubular chassis with a Mustang II-style front suspension, tubular control arms, and power steering rack. In back is a triangulated 4-link rear suspension. Bumps are handled by Aldan American coilovers while stopping is achieved by Wilwood six-piston front brakes and four-piston rear brakes.

Scott’s Hotrods ‘N Customs modified the classic body with a custom front, chopped roof, raked windshield, and tucked bumpers. Everything is covered in white paint with a black racing strip.
