SDPC Supercharged 426 ci Hemi V8 Makes 1400+ hp on the Dyno
Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center (SDPC) wanted to test a supercharged 426 ci (6.9L) Hemi V8 on the dyno using MS109 race fuel. The motor features a Dart block, Callies crank and rods, SDPC/Wiseco pistons, and SDPC Spicy Special camshaft. The camshaft has 234°/248° duration and 0.615-in/0.618-in lift. On top of the motor is a 130 mm throttle body and 3.8 L Whipple supercharger. The motor made 1281 hp and 1100 lb-ft of torque with a 4.125-inch top pulley making 16.9 psi of boost. It made 1344 hp and 1181 lb-ft with a 3.75-inch top pulley making 19.6 psi of boost. It made 1404 hp and 1354 lb-ft with 3.00-inch top pulley making 25.4 psi of boost. However the 3.00-inch pulley resulted in belt slipping. Watch the testing in the video below.
