1965 Mustang with a Twin-Turbo Windsor V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Vince Hernandez built the “Drift King” 1965 Mustang at his company Restomod Mustangs in California. Rising out of the hood is a 427 ci Windsor V8 flanked by two 74 mm turbochargers. The combo currently produces 600 hp (441 kW) to the wheels on 5 psi (0.3 bar) of boost. Vince says it could make 800 hp (596 kW) to the wheels on 10 psi (0.6 bar) of boost. Behind the motor is a T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission and 9-inch rear end with 3.80 ratio. The Mustang rides on a Detroit Speed Aluma-Frame front suspension, subframe connectors, and Chris Alston’s Chassisworks 4-link rear suspension. A set of Brada FR-5 wheels (18×11, 18×12) cover Wilwood six-piston front brakes and Wilwood four-piston rear brakes. The body uses fiberglass fenders, hood, front bumper and carbon fiber rear bumper.
