1965 Mustang with a 6.9 L Kaase V8
Kindig-It Design spent 18 months building this 1965 Mustang for the Optima Street Car Challenge. Rising up through the custom hood is a naturally aspirated 6.9 L V8 built by Jon Kaase Racing Engines capable of 800 hp. Exhaust is routed through a set of custom stainless steel headers, 3-inch piping, and Borla mufflers. Behind the motor is a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and independent 9-inch rear end. The Mustang rides on a Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis featuring C7 Corvette spindles and hubs, RS SV Fox coilovers, and parallel 4-bar rear suspension. A set of Pirelli PZero tires surround B-Forged 600 wheels (20×9, 21×14). Kindig-It Design created the exterior with a custom valance, flares, hood vents, floor, firewall, rear deck lid, and quarter-panel extensions. They painted the body in Modern Classikk‘s “Killer Tomato”, “Black Hole Black”, and “No Strings White” paint. JS Custom Interiors covered the interior and Recaro seats in black Hydes leather.
