VW 1303 with a Tesla Model S Motor

Knepper Bugs & More built this VW 1303 “LS-E” with a Tesla Model S electric motor. The blue convertible now has 300 hp (220 kW) and near instant 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque. The motor is fed by a 54 kWh battery pack from a Porsche Taycan. Knepper located on battery pack in the front and another pack behind the rear seats. The batteries are charged by a 10 kW “home” charge port or 80 kW Combined Charging System (CCS) fast charging port. Knepper improved the Beetle’s handling using a Porsche 944 chassis and suspension. The front suspension uses KW coilovers and upgraded sway bar. The rear suspension uses aluminum trailing arms and Bilstein B6 shocks. Behind the Fuchs-style Kerscher FX wheels are Porsche 944 Turbo/S2 brakes.
