Custom Volvo 850 Wagon with Dual Tesla Electric Motors

JP Performance built this custom Volvo wagon called “Volto” with help from KT4 Performance. The team started with a 1993 Volvo 850 wagon and installed Tesla electric motors in the front and rear. The unique powertrain allows the car to run in FWD, RWD, and AWD. Power for the motors are held in a custom battery packs located in the factory Volvo engine bay and inside the cabin behind the driver. The wagon rides on KW V4 adjustable coilovers with eight-piston front and rear brakes. The unique appearance is thanks to a custom widebody desigend by Mean Machines and built by HOTE Studio. Underneath the wider arches are mbDESIGN custom wheels wearing Toyo tires (275/35, 315/30).

Update 2026-May-27: We previously stated the powertrain is from a Model S Plaid. Reddit users pointed out the rear motor is a large drive unit not Plaid dual-motor. We updated the article and title.
