Mazda Miata with a Honda K24
Speed Academy built this Mazda Miata (NC) for the track. Under the hood is a 2.4 L Honda K24 inline-four using a KPower Industries swap kit and tubular front subframe. The motor features RDX 440 cc fuel injectors, K20 crank pulley, KPower intake manifold with a Bosch 74 mm DBW throttle body, Unit2 baffled oil pan, and KPower 4-2-1 exhaust header. It made 218 hp (160 kW) and 175 lb-ft (237 Nm) of torque on a Haltech Elite 1500 ECU. A Spec Stage 1 clutch and KPower adapter plate bolts to the Miata’s five-speed manual transmission. Power is sent to the wheels through a Kaaz 1.5 way limited-slip differential. Speed Academy improved the Miata’s handling using Hardrace control arms, Annex coilovers, and Eibach front roll bar. Under the arches they installed Konig F3S 17×9-inch wheels (+40offset) with Continental ExtremeContact Force tires. Watch the condensed build video below or the full build playlist.
