In 2024 Imran Arshad from Evolve Automotive debuted a new M1 clone (E82) project. The car was previously built by Ashley Sutherland at Quarry Motors. Ashley swapped the factory 2.0 L N47 turbodiesel inline-four for a naturally aspirated 4.0 L S65 V8 from a E92 M3. When the car fell into Imran’s hands he swapped the car again to a 4.4 L P65B44 V8 typically found in a BMW Z4 GT3 or BMW E92 M3 GT2 race cars. The motor received a wet sump system, aftermarket camshafts, and Syvecs ECU. The car recently visited XLR8 Performance in Connecticut, USA for a remote tune by Romain Levesque from RaceCal in the UK. On 93 octane fuel, the €90,000 motor made 402 hp (295 kW) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque to the wheels.
