Darren Hussey built his 1965 Ford XP Falcon called “Angry Bird” for drag racing. It was powered by a turbocharged 2JZ inline-six using stock internals, ARP head studs, and BorgWarner 369 turbocharger. That combo produces 750 hp (551 kW) at 2.5 bar (36.2 psi). That was paired with a seven-speed DCT from an BMW E92 M3. Darren has since upgraded to a built 2JZ with forged internals and a ATI TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. A Ford 9-inch rear end with a Strange nodular-iron center section sends power to the rear tires. You can follow the project’s progress and racing on Darren’s channel.
