This 2002 Subaru WRX originally came with a turbocharged 2.0 L EJ205 flat-four making 227 hp (169 kW) and 217 lb-ft (294 Nm) of torque. It was sent to National Speed to swap a turbocharged 2.0 L EJ207 flat-four (Ver 8) from J-Spec Auto Sports. The motor sits on STI Group N mounts and features a twin-scroll IHI VF37 turbocharger and Tomioka Racing twin-scroll downpipe. National Speed also installed an Exedy clutch and Fidanza Performance 9.5 lb aluminum flywheel in front of the five-speed manual transmission. The motor swap resulted in the “Bugeye” WRX now producing 306 hp and 309 lb-ft of torque to the wheels on 93 octane fuel.
