In 2020 Kestrel Beer asked Webster Race Engineering to transform a 1935 Riley Kestrel into a land speed race car. The unique race car called Flying Kestrel is powered by a turbocharged 2.5 L Audi TSI inline-five, Audi A6 manual transmission, and Ford 9-inch rear end. During 2021-2022 the Flying Kestrel set several land speed records. Then in 2023 it went back to Webster Race Engineering for mods to help reduce engine bay heat. The car received a new exhaust manifold, turbocharger blanket, and nitrous system for boost and cooling. Back on the dyno the inline-five made 991 hp and 753 lb-ft of torque. The car will attempt to reach 200 mph on June 17.
