Scheer Performance is building a custom RWD Ford Focus called “Corvoucus” inspired by the Global Touring Car Series V8 Focus race car. The project begins with a 2012 Ford Focus Mk3 powered by a 2.0 L inline-four FWD powertrain. Scheer Performance stripped everything from the Focus except the outer shell. Under that goes a 2001 Corvette C5 chassis with a 5.7 L LSx V8 and T56 six-speed manual transaxle. One of the biggest reasons for choosing the Corvette is the similar wheelbases. The Focus is 104.3 inches while the Corvette is 104.5 inches. You can follow the project’s progress on Ryan Scheer’s channel or @scheer_performance.
