VW Golf Mk7 with a Turbo 2.5 L Inline-Five

Charles from the Humble Mechanic purchased his VW Golf R (Mk7) in 2019. Unfortunately the car was rear-ended and thus totaled in 2023. After purchasing the car back, Charles set out to rebuild it better. First he turned to Juan Perez to fix the body damage. Then he swapped the factory turbocharged 2.0 L TSI inline-four for a turbocharged 2.5 L DAZA inline-five with help from Deutsche Auto Parts. The Golf also received a lot of part from the Audi RS3 including the DQ500 automatic transmission, brakes, rear differential and suspension, and seats. One of the project’s most striking mods is an Oettinger Sportsystems bodykit. Watch the full build on Charles’ Humble Mechanic channel.
