Ford Cortina Race Car with a Turbo RB25

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Jason Waye owns Tuff Mounts and a Ford Cortina race car called Cortzilla. The car was originally built in the early-2000’s with a Mazda 13B two-rotor. It is now powered by a turbocharged Nissan RB25 inline-six. The motor features a Jonny Tig custom exhaust manifold, Pulsar GTX3582 turbocharger, and Haltech Elite 2500 ECU. Currently the engine produces 345 kW (462 hp) to the wheels on E85 fuel but is capable of more. Backing the motor is a PPG six-speed sequential transmission and a full floating BorgWarner M78 rear end with a limited-slip differential. The Cortina race car rides on a custom tubular chassis with a cantilever front suspension and 4-link rear suspension.
