Nissan D21 Truck with a Turbo VQ30DET V6

Published in engineswapdepot.com

MSPEC Engineering is a company in Auckland, New Zealand specializing in custom engineering and metal fabrication. Seven years ago Managing Director Mike Chalkley upgraded the company’s Nissan Navara D21 shop truck with a turbocharged 3.0 L VQ30DET V6 and four-speed automatic from a Nissan Gloria Y33 (JDM). The stock engine’s output of 199 kW (266 hp) is sent through a H233 rear end from a Nissan Terrano D21, converted to use leaf springs. Recently Mike wanted to increase the engine’s output so he installed new manifolds, larger intercooler, and Turbonetics turbocharger (T3 65/57 mm turbine, TO4E 55/76 mm compressor). The changes resulted in 242 kW (324 hp) to the wheels on a Nistune ECU.
