1978 Ford Fairmont with a Supercharged LSX V8
Tim Grillot’s 1978 Ford Fairmont has seen several engines in its life. It was born with a 302 ci Windsor V8 but was replaced in 2015 with a built 4.6 L Modular V8. Fast forward to 2019 and the car has received another engine swap. This time around it’s powered by a 427 ci LSX V8 with a 14-71 hi-helix roots blower on top. The engine easily made 1100 horsepower on 10 psi of boost but is capable of much more. Since Tim is the Engineering Director at Holley Performance Products he turned to his friend Doug Marino who is Senior Exhaust Engineer for Hooker Blackheart for an incredible custom exhaust system. The exhaust is sent through custom Zoomies or a 4-inch exhaust via an electronic exhaust valve controller.
