Commer Truck with a Mid-Engine Audi V8
A talented owner has spent the last ten years building one of the most unique trucks in Sweden. The project started in 2008 with a 1951 Commer truck body under which they built a custom chassis using 40×60 mm rectangular tubing. The truck rides on an Audi A4 front suspension with custom control arms, VW Bus torsion bars, Ford Granada hubs and rotors with Volvo 240 calipers. The custom rear suspension uses Audi A4 struts, Audi A6 Quattro rear hubs and brakes. It’s powered by a 4.2 L Audi V8 from a 1992 Audi 200 connected to a six-speed manual transmission and axles from a 1994 Audi 100 2.5d (FWD). The body features a 3.25-inch chop, wider fiberglass front fenders, and custom flip-up bed with an air scoop. You can view more photos and details in either the English build thread or in the Swedish build thread which is more current.
