This Volvo 240 was purchased in San Diego, California before driven across the US to Detroit, Michigan where it spent much of a year being rebuilt into a drag racing beast. The wagon is powered by a turbocharged 6.0 L LSx V8 that features a stock bottom-end, modified heads, upgraded camshaft, and 80 mm turbocharger. The drivetrain uses a TH400 automatic transmission connected to a Ford 9-inch rear end. Watch the team’s first time out with the car at Hot Rod’s Drag Week where they run consistent low-9’s and eventually a best of 8.959 sec at 150.80 mph.
