Hass-Serafini Racing’s Compound Twin-Turbo Hayabusa
Don Hass and Steve Serafini of Hass-Serafini Racing are trying to go 300+ mph in the standing mile with a highly modified 2004 Suzuki Hayabusa. The team needs a lot of horsepower to achieve their goal so they sent the motorcycle’s engine to be rebuilt by Steve Knecum. The engine features a custom JE pistons, Marine billet crank, custom Carillo rods with ZX14 journals, custom grind Web camshafts, ported head, and eight ID2000 injectors. They also added a custom compound twin-turbo system using two COMP turbochargers. The engine is tuned by Shane Tecklenburg and makes 564 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque on methanol fuel and 18 psi of boost. However it’s built to make 1,000 horsepower at 60-70 psi. You can read more details on the engine at Engine Labs
