Toyota Tacoma with a Turbo K24 Inline-Four Goes 8.121
This 2003 Toyota Tacoma called “Tako2.0” was built in less than a year by CDFab in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Under the hood sits a turbocharged K24 inline-four built by Gregg Dahl that makes 808 horsepower and 687 lb-ft of torque to the wheels on E85 fuel. The engine features JE pistons, Manley Turbo Tuff rods, Supertech valvetrain, stock camshafts, Precision 6266 turbocharger, and Hondata ECU. The drivetrain consists of a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission with custom Bill Hincher adapter and Ford 9-inch rear end. The combination was good enough to run a 8.121 sec at 162.82 mph and win True Street class at World Cup Finals 2018. You can read why they chose the truck and powertrain combination on this FB post.
