Speed Academy stopped by one of their friend’s garage to talk about his new project. The owner purchased a 1977 Porsche 911 that was originally built by Eddie Bello. The 911 came with a built twin-turbo 3.3 L flat-six that made about 650 horsepower to the wheels and did 10.40s in the quarter-mile. After getting into the motor he realized it would cost at least $10K for a rebuild and possible go as high as $30K. So he made the decision to install a 5.3 L LM7 iron-block V8 with twin Turbonetics turbos. It is expected to produce around 600 horsepower on 7 psi of boost using a Haltech Elite ECU. The engine will be installed using Renegade Hybrids swap kit and cradle.
