2010 Toyota Tundra with a Twin-turbo Diesel V8
Diesel Toys located in San Antonio, Texas has been converting popular SUVs to diesel power since 2004. This 2010 Tundra Crew Max 4×4 came to Diesel Toys to have the factory engine replaced with a twin-turbo 4.5 L 1VD-FTV diesel V8. The engine features Toyota’s D-4D common rail fuel injection technology and produces 261 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. Behind the engine sits a six-speed automatic transmission. It takes a lot of work to swap an engine and convert it to diesel. That is reflected in the $38,000 price for a turn-key conversion.
Starting on January 1, 2017 Diesel Toys will be shifting from converting customer-supplied vehicles to selling already converted vehicles on a first-come, first-serve. They will also reducing the models of vehicles to just 2005+ Toyota Tacomas and FJ Cruisers. Previously they also converted Toyota 4Runners, Tundras, and Land Cruisers. The conversion prices are listed below and each package comes with a 3.0 L 1KD-FTV inline-four turbo diesel that produces 170 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque.
