1979 Toyota Corona Mark II with a 1GZ-FE V12

Published in engineswapdepot.com

A creative owner from New Zealand is building a very unique 1979 Toyota Corona Mark II sedan. The owner originally planned on replacing the factory 2.0 L M-EU inline-six with a 1UZ or 3UZ V8 but everything changed when a 5.0 L 1GZ-FE V12 showed up. The V12 engine fit well in the engine bay and only required the headers modified to clear the steering box. It was installed using a pair of 1UZ to M motor mounts that were bent slightly to fit the angle of the engine mount point. The owner also decided to build custom individual throttle bodies from those found on a 4A-GE 20v inline-four. The rest of the drivetrain consists of a 1UZ clutch and flywheel connected to a R154 five-speed manual transmission via a R154 to 1GZ bellhousing and a Altezza F-series LSD.
