Honda S600 with a 1,000 HP 2JZ
Phil Penny has figured out a way of stuffing 1,000 horsepower into a tiny 1965 Honda S600. He accomplished this by using a 2JZ that has been stroked to 3.2 L and features resin filled block, GRP aluminum rods, Arias ceramic coated pistons, custom grind Sure cams and Dave Stevens ported head. The engine is controlled by a Haltech PS2000 ECU and thanks to a Billet Turbochargers 88 mm turbo providing 24 psi of boost, the engine produces 1,002 horsepower to the rear wheels. There is so little room in the engine bay the turbo now sits completely out of the bay like a some kind of Cobra ready to strike. To keep the engine fed with enough fuel the car runs a Hypertune twin fuel rail, 12 x Bosch 1600 cc methanol injectors and a Enderle belt driven fuel pump. Behind the engine sits an ATI Powerglide transmission and Altra 9″ rear end. Phil’s best time so far has been a 8.0 sec at 174 mph.
