Infiniti J30 with a Turbo LSx
Mike McCarthy enjoyed driving his VH45 powered Nissan S13 but the coupe’s space limitations didn’t help with his growing family and lack of amenities was limited the fun. Mike turned to Stephen at LOJ Conversions to help with his next project which was going to have it all; a lot of power and comfort. The project started with an Infiniti J30 with a 3.0 L V6 and an automatic transmission and with the help from Stephen they installed an aluminum 5.3 L LM4 from a Trailblazer. To make sure the heavy sedan had enough power to get around a Borg Warner S366 turbocharger was installed. All told the engine produces around 500-550 horsepower to the rear wheels on 11 psi of boost. The rest of the drivetrain consists of a five-speed manual transmission from a 300ZX and a rear end from a Q45.
