2013 Golf R With A 740 HP VR6
HPA has been making big power for many years using VW’s 3.6 L VR6 engines and their turbo kit but found the DQ250 transmission was having trouble with anything over 650 horsepower. Thanks to their technical partner HGP developing a way to connect 3.6 L VR6 to the stronger DQ500 transmission from the European Audi TT RS they now have a way of shifting gears with even more power.
All that work has lead to projects like the HPA FT740 Twin Turbo Golf R, which is a 2013 Golf R with a twin-turbo 3.6 L FSI VR6 which produces 740 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque. When you run that level of power through a seven-speed DQ500 direct-shift gearbox you get some ridiculous acceleration times. HPA reports the Golf can reach 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds, 0-125 mph in 8.9 seconds, and 0-190 mph in 22 seconds.
