1968 Camaro with Mid-Engine Oldsmobile V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

A lot of you probably have seen this before (it is an older project) but for those of you who haven’t (somehow we missed this too) this is a wild custom. If you have followed our site for any length of time you will know early Camaro’s have been customized all kinds of ways with every type of power plant there is. This is Warren Prout’s 1968 Camaro called “Cam-Aero” which features a 455 cubic-inch Oldsmobile engine installed behind the driver. The engine and the transaxle is from a 1975 Toranado. The body has been widened 5 inches, lengthened 10 inches and the wheelbase increased 3.5 inches. The roof is from a 1990 Lumina and the hatchback is from a Monza.
