RB25 Powered Mazda Miata

Published in engineswapdepot.com

The first upgrade to the Miata was a turbo kit. That could only add so much power. Then the owner upgraded the car with a donation of a blown RB25 from a friend’s drift 240SX. The engine is a RB25DET from a Nissan R34 NEO Skyline. With the Garrett turbo, the engine is putting out 711 horsepower and 581 ft/lbs of torque.

The stock differential was swapped with a Cadillac CTS differential. Just incase the turbo RB wasn’t enough, a red button taped to the shifter will open up a NOS bottle in the truck for an extra 85 horsepower. The Miata can do a 1/8 mile in 6.3 seconds at 115 mph. The owner is hoping for low nines in the 1/4 mile. Take it for what its worth, the writer for Speedhunters claims this is one of the fastest accelerating cars he has even been in.
