Giamaro Automobili is a hypercar manufacturer located in Modena, Italy. When the company was developing their newest hypercar “Krafla” they needed a unique and powerful power plant. They turned to Italtecnica Engineering to design and build a quad-turbo 7.0 L V12 capable of 1500+ hp (1103+ kW). The 120-degree V12 features an irregular firing order to help the long crankshaft. Crank pins have an alternating spacing of 50° and 70° instead of the typical 60° and 60° spacing. The motor uses forged aluminum pistons with Teflon-coated skirts, forged steel rods, and eight-stage dry sump system. On top are custom heads with bucket-style lifters and gear-driven valvetrain. Fuel is delivered by a port and direct injection system. Italtecnica Engineering designed the motor with a “Hot-V” configuration meaning the exhaust exits on the top where there are four Garrett G30-660 turbochargers. The base motor will produce 1500 hp (1103 kW) and 1500 Nm (1106 Nm) of torque. Giamaro Automobili plans to increase the output in the future.
