1964 Galaxie with a 482 ci FE V8
Prestige Motorsports spent many hours and approximately $514,000 building this 1964 Ford Galaxie at their company in Concord, North Carolina. The classic coupe is for sale at RK Motors.
The car is powered by a 482 ci Ford FE V8 capable of 685 hp (503 kW) and 606 lb-ft (821 Nm) of torque with 10.5 compression. The big-block motor features a Bear Block Motors aluminum block, 1000 cfm throttle bodies, Bear Block Motors aluminum head, custom ground Comp camshaft, and Aviaid dry sump system. Exhaust is routed through custom stainless steel headers and piping with Hooker mufflers.
Behind the motor is a Tremec Magnum six-speed manual transmission with a McLeod clutch. From there power is transmitted by a carbon fiber driveshaft to a Strange 9-inch rear end with a 3.89 ratio.
Prestige Motorsports turned to Roadster Shop to make a custom Fast Track Stage 3 chassis. It features tubular control arms, power steering rack, and 4-link rear suspension. On each corner is a Penske ajustable coilover and Baer six-piston caliper with 14-inch drilled/slotted rotor. Covering those are Budnik Remington 19-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires (255/40, 345/30).
The custom interior is covered in red leather with brushed aluminum trim. A custom console separates the four bucket seats with four-point harnessed. Behind the Budnik aluminum steering wheel are Holley EFI gauges. Other custom parts include billet aluminum door pulls and air blowing through billet vents.
