5 Classic Sports Cars You Forgot Existed! Classic sports cars often steal the spotlight, but some amazing models fade into history. In this video, we bring back five rare and fascinating sports cars that most people have forgotten. These cars had bold designs, impressive performance, and unique stories, yet they struggled to stay on the market. First, we look at the Ascort TSV 1300, an Australian sports car built between 1958 and 1960. Inspired by European models like the Porsche 356 and Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, it had a lightweight fiberglass body and a modified Volkswagen engine. Despite its promising start, only 13 units were completed before production stopped. Next, we dive into the Opel GT, often called the "Baby Corvette." First introduced in 1968, it had a sleek body and pop-up headlights. With a top speed of 185 km/h, it was quick for its time. Though over 100,000 were made, it vanished after 1973 due to production issues and new U.S. safety laws. Opel tried to bring it back in 2007 and again in 2016, but those versions never gained much success. Another forgotten gem is the Fiberfab Jamaican, a kit car from the late 1960s. It allowed owners to customize their vehicle using parts from British sports cars like the Triumph TR3 or Austin-Healey 100. A later version, the Jamaican II, featured a custom chassis designed for big V8 engines. While stylish and flexible, it never reached mainstream success, partly due to the dark personal story of its creator. We also feature the Devin SS, a lightweight American sports car from 1958. Created by Bill Devin, it combined a fiberglass body with a Chevrolet V8 engine, making it extremely fast. It could reach 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. However, only around 30 units were made before production ended, making it one of the rarest American sports cars ever built. Lastly, we cover the Jensen-Healey, a British roadster built between 1972 and 1976. It had a Lotus engine, sleek design, and decent performance, but reliability problems and competition from Japanese sports cars led to its downfall.
