GVT CERTIFIED! Classic Truck Sold as NEW!
Southfield Classics is the first company to gain a Manufacturer's License from the Federal Government (NHTSA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) to sell vehicles under the Low Volume Vehicle Manufacturers Act. General Manager Dan Paul presented at the 2024 SEMA Show, outlining the process to legally sell classic vehicles as new under this program, and the steps required to achieve federal certification. Ampere EV's Andrew Fillingim presented on the Atom Drive System, and how its design allowed Southfield Classics to achieve their certification of the powertrain for its vehicles. The advantages to achieving Low Volume Vehicle Manufacturer certification are many. As a manufacturer, it shows that your vehicles have hit the benchmarks of federal standards required under the act, proving not only a commitment to delivering a premium classic experience but also adherence to required regulations. For the enthusiast, it breeds confidence that the vehicles are in fact new, despite their classic appearance, opening up opportunities for financing, insurability, and peace of mind that your classic will be highly reliable (in addition to including modern conveniences not included with standard restorations). Southfield Classics worked closely with SEMA Garage to complete the testing required to achieve certification. They use an Ampere EV Atom Drive EV Powertrain in their vehicles, which uses all-new components and includes modern features like CCS Fast Charging, HV AC, battery heating and cooling, Apple CarPlay and Android connectivity, navigation, and more Our Atom Drive System is developed by our world-class engineers and includes modular battery packs, level 3 fast charging, vehicle control unit, and a customizable user interface—all built in-house, pre-configured, and ready to install. The system also includes a high-quality touchscreen user interface with options for tactile switches and legacy gauges.
