Sigve Bergum built this Ford Escort race car to compete in hill climb. Behind the driver is a custom firewall and then a turbocharged 1.8 L VW 20v (AEB) inline-four. The motor features a 058 block, girdle, forged rods and pistons, KMCams camshafts, ported head, and Supertech valve springs. A custom exhaust manifold keeps a Pulsar 6780 turbocharger spinning. HillClimb Monsters reports the motor produces 600 hp (441 kW). The 840 kg (1851 lb) race car features a custom chassis with pushrod suspension and fiberglass body.
