Aluminum Datsun 240Z with a RB25DET

Larry Chen interviewed Topher Pine at the SEMA Show 2025 about this Datsun 240Z. The coupe is powered by a Turbocharged 2.5 L RB25DET inline-six capable of 400-450 hp (294-330 kW). It is backed by a CD009 six-speed manual transmission and R200 rear differential. What sets Topher’s 240Z apart from the reset is the custom aluminum body by Star Road Japan. The company installed fenders, hood, doors, roof, and quarter panels made from 5000 series aluminum. Topher estimates the aluminum body reduces the car weight by 70 kg (154 lb). The car also uses Star Road’s front suspension and upgraded brakes. The interior features Speedhut gauges, Vintage Air AC system, and Number7 Racing seats, harnesses, and steering wheel.
