Mercedes AMG A45 with a 1956 Pickup Body
This custom 1956 Mercedes pickup was built by Morne Greeff and his company Mo’s Restorations (Moshinz) in South Africa. The body comes from a the 1956 Mercedes 180D “Ponton” (W120) sedan converted to a pickup when it was imported to South Africa in the 50’s. Morne placed the 1956 pickup shell over a stripped Mercedes A 45 AMG (W176) chassis and powertrain. That means in the engine bay is a turbocharged 2.0 L M270 inline-four making 376 hp (280 kW) and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a AMG Speedshift seven-speed DCT and 4MATIC AWD drivetrain. It rides on an AMG sports suspension and 350×32 front brakes and 330×22 rear brakes. Covering those are widened Mercedes 18-inch wheels with classic hubcaps. Morne retained the A 45 interior including the steering wheel with paddle shifters, leather seats, door cards, and power windows.
