BMW E30 with a Turbo S54
This wild 1989 BMW 325i was built by Red Baron Racing in Santa Rosa, California for driver Donovan Brockway to compete in Formula Drift Pro 2.
The team just unveiled their new livery which includes a riveted metal look with their mascot flying Snoopy on the roof and doors. Donovan is able to use Snoopy because he is part of the Schulz Family.
Under the hood sits a 3.2 L S54 inline-six engine with upgraded internals built by VAC Motorsports. It previously ran a supercharger but now runs a Precision 6870 turbocharger which partially sticks though the hood. The engine produces 940 horsepower to the wheels on Ignite Racing Fuel 114 ethanol fuel.
A 10 lb nitrous bottle sitting between the seats helps spool the turbo in low to mid-range rpm. The engine’s power increases by 200 hp between 2,500-4,000 rpm with a 100 shot of nitrous.
The drivetrain consists of a Samsonas Motorsports sequential transmission with a Clutch Masters FX850 twin-disc clutch and a Speedway Engineering 10″ Stock Car quick change rear end with 4.11 gears.
